What is the process for SureSmile in Watford?

At your initial consultation we’ll talk through what you want to achieve with your teeth.

We’ll take digital images and x-rays of your mouth and teeth, and these will be used to create your bespoke SureSmile plastic aligners.

Once the SureSmile aligners are ready, you will come back to the dental surgery in Watford, and we will show you how to wear them.

Wear your SureSmile aligners

Your dentist will tell you how often you should be wearing your SureSmile aligners each day and when you should change to the next set of aligners in the series. You wear your aligners until you have reached the last in the set.

As well as receiving your SureSmile aligners, you’ll also be given a SureSmile VPro which you should use daily for 5 minutes.

This small device is inserted into your mouth and delivers gentle vibrations which help to ensure that your aligners are fitting properly against your teeth.

The beauty of straightening teeth with SureSmile is that you are given several clear aligners up front and will only need to check in with your dentist in Watford occasionally to ensure that your teeth straightening is on track.

How many sets of SureSmile aligners will I get?

This varies according to each patient and will depend upon your orthodontic need. Some only need 12, others will need 48. On average, most patients receive 20-30 SureSmile aligners.

How long must I wear SureSmile for each day?

Your dentist will give you a specific answer to this according to your case, but we usually tell patients to wear your SureSmile aligners for a minimum of 22 hours a day as this means that your teeth experience the fastest results.

Will my teeth move back after having SureSmile aligners?

As part of the SureSmile teeth straightening treatment, we provide retainers which you wear at the end of your treatment to help ensure that your teeth stay in position and don’t move.
